Job Description

Bakeshop, a retail and wholesale bakery in NE Portland, is hiring strong support staff for pastry production. We have one position available, immediately. To begin, this is for four 8 hour shifts with the possibility of five as we move closer to the holidays.

Experience and qualifications will determine if you are ready for the am or pm shift. Am shifts run from approx 7am – 3pm and pm shifts run from approx 4pm – midnight.

*The PM position is an ideal entry level position. A year or two in kitchens already is a must. Graduation from culinary school with pastry focus is a plus.

*Responsibilities include scaling recipes, scooping muffins, rolling cookies, packing wholesale pastries, dishes, cleaning and various other side prep projects.

*The AM position is ideal for someone with at least two years of bakery experience and enjoys repetitive, large scale production minding the details along the way.

*Responsibilities include scaling recipes, scone production, mixing dough, mixing/rolling cookies, stirring jams, toasting nuts, zesting citrus, dishes, cleaning and helping out wherever needed.

The ideal candidate for both of these positions works methodically and meticulously, both independently and as a member of a strong team. The ability to move and communicate in a busy kitchen is required.
