Slappy Cakes is now hiring a Head Chef, this is a working chef position. Must have the ability to expedite and handle all aspects of the kitchen. Including motivating employees and overseeing all production activities, ensuring consistency and quality of all food and implementing the highest sanitation standards.
We are a high volume breakfast restaurant with a menu that presents a modern take on classic American comfort food. Our food is fresh, from scratch with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. We offer interactive dining and foster a fun environment for our guests and employees.
-Minimum of 3 years kitchen management and/or supervisory experience preferred
-Demonstrated knowledge of health and sanitation requirements
-Ability to work and succeed in a fast-paced environment
-Exceptional ability to maintain composure and professionalism, even in difficult situations
-Ability to walk, stand for long periods of time and regularly lift and carry at least 50 pounds
-Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills
-Strong line cook and expediting skills
-Ability to work flexible schedule and fill in when needed. Being a “morning person” is a plus
-Enjoy working in an open kitchen
This is a salaried position depending on experience.
Slappy Cakes is a family owned and operated restaurant. We opened the first Slappy Cakes in Portland, Oregon in 2009, and Maui, HI in 2013. Slappy Cakes is a growing company with locations in Tokyo, Singapore and Manila. We have plans to franchise in the United States and look forward to promoting from within as we grow our business.
