Pineapple Hospitality is currently accepting applications for experienced Houseperson to join our team of friendly, dependable and professional ambassadors at Hotel Rose in beautiful downtown Portland.
GENERAL OVERVIEW: Responsible for acting in a support role to housekeepers and supervisors. Responsible for cleaning hallways, lobby and removing trash while providing great customer service. Works in a fast and efficient manner.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to the executive housekeeper but works closely with all departments including housekeeping, front desk and maintenance.
APPEARANCE STANDARDS: Employees will follow the dress code provided by the Rooms Manager at all times while at work. Must wear name tag.
Provides housekeepers with needed supplies and stocks storerooms.
Perform routine duties including, but not limited to, washing, drying, folding and sorting linen
and terry for pick up.
Removes trash and soiled linens.
Use floor equipment as required in the units, hallways, etc.
Flips mattresses over on a quarterly basis or as required by manufacturer.
Immediately notifies supervisor of any equipment failure.
Smiles and is friendly when interacting with co-workers, guests and property employees.
Responsible for cleaning and servicing Public Restrooms, Pool Facilities, Fitness Center, Business Center etc.
Assisting with Maintenance tasks (ie. Changing a light bulb, plunging a toilet, etc.)
Clean lobby and public restrooms, and restock supplies.
Using dish washing machine to clean food and beverage wares (coffee mugs, drinking glasses)
Guest requests during the day shift and all of them on the evening and night shifts, as they are the only person (other than front desk) on staff at that time.
Act as security for the property, walking the parking lots and checking doors, stairwells and common areas.
Must be able to perform the following actions: walking, standing (80% of job function), sitting, bending, talking, listening, lifting to approximately 50 pounds, establishing eye contact, pushing and pulling.
Assimilate into the Pineapple Hospitality culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Pineapple Hospitality from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
High school or equivalent education required.
At least two years experience preferred, plus demonstrated understanding of a property management system.
