Front Desk Agent – Ace Hotel Portland

The Front Desk Agent is a valuable resource for our guests.

We are looking for outgoing individuals who think for themselves, on their feet, and make decisions that result in a positive experience for the guest.

Job Description:

Primary point of contact for guests.

Answer questions about Ace and Portland proper, give recommendations for restaurants, bars, retail stores, food-carts, tiny parks and any other ideas for activities in and around the Portland area.

Fulfill all daily checklist obligations including basic office work, cleaning and organization.

Attend to guest needs in a timely, courteous and professional manner, prioritizing as needed during busy times.

Coordinate with all hotel departments to best serve the guest’s experience.

Take care of issues/complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Reporting and keeping record of situations and their resolutions using hotel software.

Regular Daily Responsibilities include (but are not limited too):

 Facilitate all arrivals and departures, checking in and out guests, making sure correct payment and contact information has been received and the guest’s needs have been met.
 Describe and offer hotel amenities and room features.
 Post proper charges for hotel goods and services. Handle and maintain a cash bank.
 Answer the phone and take reservations in a manner meeting hotel standards.
 Follow daily checklist to ensure all duties are attended to.
 Check arrivals to ensure guests are assigned to the proper rooms and full-fillable requests have been attended to.
 Recommend area restaurants, shops, and activities for guests.
 Assist in arranging and recommending travel options.
 Inventory office supplies and retail items as needed.
 Assist in packing, shipping & receiving of guest packages.
 Keep Desk/Office/Lobby area clean.
 Assist other departments as required.

Qualifications:

 Prior hotel experience desirable.
 Basic computer skills required.
 Must have excellent customer service skills.
 Ability to meet standards of appearance.
 Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
