Ox & Fin, in Eugene Oregon, is hiring a new front of house manager. We are seeking one experienced, well-versed hospitality professional to fill an important, visible role in our restaurant! Duties include the following:
Being the face of the dining room five nights a week, and treating all guests as one’s own
Ensuring a smooth, enjoyable experience for all guests during those five nights
Staffing and scheduling servers, hosts, and bartenders
Upholding and improving service standards
Assisting in the planning and organization of private dinners and related functions
Maintaining point of sale and reservation systems
Attend & contribute to management meetings
With these duties in mind, here is a rough outline of our requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality
Well-rounded knowledge of food, wine, spirits, beer, and service etiquette
An innate drive for continual improvement, both in oneself and in the staff as a whole
Full of enthusiasm, energy & passion, keen eye for detail, and ability to coach & develop both tenured and new team members.
Preference will likely be given to those with formal education in hospitality or management, a sommelier’s certification, etc., and/or a greater breadth of experience in different dining settings. That obscure familiarity you have with refrigerators, computers, tap systems, carpentry, tax code, and so forth, will also be given due consideration.
