EVENT PLANNER ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
Hourly – Full and Part Time Available
Food in Bloom Event Planners Assitants work directly with an Event Planner and together are responsible of all aspects of planning and assisting with the execution of off-premise catering events.
Planner Assistants are expected to be available to attend client consultations, tastings in order to be completely involved in all aspects of the planning process.
Job responsibilities & skills including but not limited to the following:
-Relevant experience and/or education in event planning and management, hospitality, tourism and meeting planning, or event marketing. College degrees preferred.
-Responsible for attending client consultations and menu tastings and assisting with inputting notes and information into events
-Ability to produce and accurately revise rental orders, floorplans, kitchen sheets, contracts with outside vendors required
-A good working knowledge and love for food & beverage required
-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to quickly learn Caterease, our database software among others
-Flexible schedule to include some nights, weekends, and holidays. Be available to greet clients on behalf of the company and assist the operations team as needed
-Participate and represent Food in Bloom at trade shows, open houses and marketing events
-Email sample proposals, photos, venue info to prospective clients
-Familiarization with all Food In Bloom event venues
-Tour Clients – Various Venues
-Professional and strategic communication skills
-Strong sales capability
-A strong desire for growth and further education in the event industry
