Job Description

Abernethy Center is an Award Winning Wedding Venue located in Oregon City. We have been awarded Oregon Bride’s Magazine Best All Inclusive Wedding Venue for three consecutive years. We are a full service event destination that included both indoor and outdoor venues.

We are currently looking to add to our already Awarding Winning Team for our upcoming wedding season. This position is a great fit for anyone who has a passion for the hospitality industry and enjoys providing a high standard of service and quality for our guests. We are 100% drug free work environment that is highly organized and professional. We are looking for people who value working in this type of setting.
The nature of our work is primarily weekends. Great for people who are in school, hold day jobs, weekdays or Nine to fivers.

Job Description
Bartender / Server
Part-time: $13-$17/hour no service charges
Work Location: Abernethy Center 606 15th Street Oregon City
The best qualified candidate will have proven experience in casual and/or fine dining catering bartending, specifically with the set-up, service and breakdown of the bar in a safe and accident-free manner. Candidate must have demonstrated skills in service standards, guest relations and dining etiquette. Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous beverage service to customers. Our Bartenders must know and be able to help out with service and will to work as servers when bartending positions are not needed or available. Fine dining service experience is preferred.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
*Read BEO and know how to complete the bar set-up
*Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards
*Perform all guest contact in a cordial, efficient and professional manner
*Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credit cards in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures
*Know and comply with state liquor laws
*Ensure established pars are maintained
*Complete assigned side work
*Remains attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards at all times
*Able to work flexible shifts to consist of mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
*Attend all pre-event and departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communications and gain knowledge of products, service and facility

*Responds to customer inquiries and comments by providing timely and knowledgeable information in order to provide quality customer service
*Presents a clean and professional appearance at all times
*Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
*Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

*Lifting and carrying trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc 20-40lbs
*Bending/kneeling: Ability to bend to lower level cabinets and lift trays
*Mobility: Maneuver in narrow areas and between seated guests
*Continuous standing required to service guests functions; 100% of the time scheduled
*Must have ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, follow verbal and written instruction
*Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to sound and sight details in a crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks
*Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations
*Ability to read, speak and write English
*Ability to accurately count cash
*Ability to operate cash register

*Must be 21 years of age or older
*Minimum of 3 years bartending experience
*Operational knowledge of equipment including but not limited to blender, cash register, credit card approval and imprint machines
*Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
*Obtain or hold a current Oregon Food Handlers Card
*Familiar with OR State liquor laws
*Hold a current Oregon Liquor Control Commission Service Permit
