Both properties are senior retirement communities, with Creekside Village being located in Beaverton and Hazelwood in Portland. We have an immediate opening for an experienced line cook to help cover vacations and absences. We are seeking a candidate with experience in cooking, prep, and working with seniors. We are also seeking a team player that is willing to interact with people on a consistent basis. Customer service is a top priority and this person must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Hours and shifts vary, FT/PT hours are available.
Assists with preparation of meals according to menus and recipes, including for special diets and diet textures; specific duties include but are not limited to:
o Preparing foods (e.g., vegetables) for cooking
o Preparing salads
o Preparing desserts
o Preparing serving carts.
Assists with preparation of meals adhering to all food sanitation policies and procedures.
Assists with preparation of meals adhering to all portion control policies and procedures.
Assists with assuring meals appetizing and served attractively and punctually.
Stores food correctly, adhering to all related policies and procedures (e.g., labels, dates, and specific reuse for leftovers).
Assists with cleaning kitchen after meals, including but not limited to pots and pans, all surfaces, and floor.
Performs special kitchen cleaning tasks according to schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned by Facility Executive Chef.
Serves as role model for other employees by displaying responsible, cooperative, positive attitude.
Maintains food handlers permit to fulfill state or provincial regulations.
Maintains CPR and first aid certification as necessary to fulfill state or provincial regulations.
Attends education and training classes, including as necessary to fulfill state or provincial regulations.
Must have at least a high school diploma / GED
Must be legally qualified to work in the US
Must be able to speak, read and write English in a manner sufficient to carry out the duties
Must have or acquire a Food Handlers card
