Job Description

Muselet Restaurant and Wine Bar will open in Fall 2014 in Portland’s South Waterfront district. The facility is being constructed in new space on the street level of the The Ardea Apartment Building. The dining room and bar will seat 70-80, plus 30-40 outdoors on the garden patio.

Muselet is in a neighborhood which is home to several thousand high-income residents within 2-3 blocks of the restaurant. In addition, the OHSU South Waterfront campus is growing by leaps and bounds, with nearly 5,000 people coming to work in the area every day.

Muselet will combine fresh Oregon farm bounty, innovative cooking, and global inspiration. The wine bar will focus on Champagnes and regional sparkling wines from around the world, as well as the finest selection of wines from the Willamette Valley AVAs. Our specialty will be the pairing of food and wine for a memorable experience. A continental-style breakfast will be served including delectable pastries and single-origin coffee and espresso. Lunch will be configured to accommodate all customers whether they desire a business luncheon or a box lunch to go on a busy day. An eclectic, modern dinner menu will be presented with the goal of perfectly pairing the food with the wine.

Above all, a highly satisfied guest will be the key element of our success. Our philosophy: nothing and no one is more important than the guest. No matter what an employee is doing, he/she will be expected to acknowledge the need of a guest within seconds. No customer will be made to wait for our attention. We will make every effort to send every guest away happy and excited to tell others about us. They will become an ambassador for Muselet.

Our chef is:

A consummate collaborative, creative and business professional, responsible for preparing the highest quality ingredients using the most effective methods to create world-class cuisine.
A personable host who makes frequent visits at tableside.
A creative partner who will work successfully with the highly-respected and knowledgeable owner/front-of-house director.
Personable, courteous, collaborative and supportive of all staff.
Have ‘pants-on-fire’ excitement about making the Muselet experience renowned locally and nationally.

This is an opportunity to join a collective of professional, knowledgeable and personable people committed to outstanding food, wine and service.

Send your resume and a cover letter which responds to the values outlined above. Include ‘Muselet Chef’ in the subject line.
