Catering Waitstaff – Oregon Zoo, temporary

You’ll be working in a positive, fun environment at Portland’s most visited attraction while building your resume with skills in customer service, teamwork and leadership. Schedules are based on the level of business, but the zoo prides itself on working with staffs school and work schedules.
The Catering Servers are waitstaff and bartenders. They set up, serve and clean-up for a variety of catered events from formal dinners to company picnics. A Multnomah County food handler’s card and the ability to obtain a OLCC permit are required for this position.
*Starting pay is based on experience and job assignment. Zoo employees may not accept tips.
Must be 18 years of age. Must have a valid Multnomah County food handler’s card upon hire and an OLCC permit to serve liquor, or the abiliyt to obtain an OLCC permit. Experience serving food and beverage in banquet or offsite catering setting. Sufficient education to demonstrate the ability to read instructions and to perform routine math calculations with accuracy. Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above. Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide excellent customer service. We are a seven day a week operation. Schedules may be flexible, so staff must be able to work multiple shifts, including, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
