The lead role is to assist in the smooth functioning of the cafe’s workflow and customer service. This is a full time position of 5 shifts/week. The majority of that time will be spent behind the counter interacting with customers and supporting the staff.
The cafe lead is responsible for the efficiency and quality of service, The cafe lead will support both the register and barista positions by prioritizing needs and allowing the register and barista to remain at their stations as much as possible.
This position will take an active role in the overall customer experience by answering questions, guiding guests through their transaction and ensuring satisfaction upon delivery of the order.
The cafe lead will assist the cafe manager in maintaining a clean cafe by finding side projects or additional cleaning tasks, either completing those as time allows or delegating them to other staff members as is appropriate.
The lead position will also report any issues with service or operation to the cafe manager. This may include problems with customers, areas of improvement for other staff members, or facility and equipment issues.
