Job Description

New Cascadia Traditional is a dedicated gluten free bakery looking for the right person to join our talented bread crew.

Our bread is handcrafted using traditional bakery techniques such as natural “sourdough” starters. We also take pride in our use of 100% whole grain gluten free flour in most of our breads.

Our bakers have their hand in all aspects of the baking process from start to finish. This job will involve all aspects of bread production: scaling, mixing, forming, proofing and operating the ovens. As part of a team you would be shaping by hand and baking several hundred loaves per shift.

The ideal candidate would have the following qualities:

*A minimum of two years of professional baking experience (or professional kitchen experience with some baking experience).
* A passion for high quality breads
* Work well with others as a team
* An interest in gluten free baking
* Enjoyment of physical work that is demanding
* Be able to work quickly and efficiently and maintain high standards of quality
* Have a strong sense of pride in their work
* Be able to lift 60 lbs

Schedule and Hours: This is a part time position that will likely lead to full time or close to full time within 8 weeks. Evenings, generally 6-8 hrs but as long as 10 hrs. You must have reliable transportation. You will be required to work a minimum of one weekend evening.
