FOH/Barista Wanted for Gluten-Free Bakery (inner SE Portland)
New Cascadia Traditional is a dedicated gluten free bakery selling artisan breads, pastries, cakes, pies and lunch items. We also serve Stumptown Coffee and other specialty drinks. We are growing and looking for a personable, reliable, trustworthy and self-directed person who loves customer service to join our team for part time barista/FOH work beginning immediately.
The successful candidate will be able to multitask, keep calm during busy times, yet be quick on your feet, take initiative when needed and provide friendly, professional customer service. Learning our products, taking phone orders, filling special orders, cashiering and crafting espresso drinks are necessary. Additionally, the job requires cleaning up after yourself, washing dishes, and maintaining an organized, safe, positive work environment. Ideally we are looking for a personable adult who loves food and people and who will stay with us for long term employment (this is not a seasonal position).
A background in great customer service experience is essential; barista experience is preferred, but we will make an exception for the right person. Must be available on Saturdays and Sundays.
An Oregon food handler’s card as well as an OLCC permit will be required, and the ability to work early mornings, afternoons/evenings and weekends. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and handle standing for long periods of time.

This will be a part-time position. Shifts will generally be about 5-7 hours-starting at 6:00am and finishing no later than 7PM.
